The S\u00e4chsi\u00adsche Textil\u00adfor\u00adschungs\u00adin\u00adsti\u00adtut e.V.<\/a> (STFI) is a Chemnitz-based innova\u00adtion partner in the field of techni\u00adcal texti\u00adles and textile materials.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

Since 2000, the database-based PROCALC project manage\u00adment system has been develo\u00adped by pro et con for the S\u00e4chsi\u00adsches Textil\u00adfor\u00adschungs\u00adin\u00adsti\u00adtut e.V. (STFI). The STFI employs more than 150 people in research, services and certi\u00adfi\u00adca\u00adtion. A large number of research and develo\u00adp\u00adment projects are planned and reali\u00adsed at the STFI \u2013 inclu\u00adding various EU partners, research coope\u00adra\u00adti\u00adons and associa\u00adti\u00adons. A high degree of organi\u00adsa\u00adtion and workload is requi\u00adred to document the deploy\u00adment of staff within ongoing projects and to plan person\u00adnel resour\u00adces effici\u00adently and profi\u00adta\u00adbly for future projects.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Requi\u00adre\u00adment: <\/strong>the start\u00ading point for the develo\u00adp\u00adment of PROCALC were payroll lists and times\u00adheets filled out manually by STFI employees, which were assigned to the indivi\u00addual projects in a time-consum\u00ading adminis\u00adtra\u00adtive process. Thus, overviews and statis\u00adti\u00adcal analy\u00adses could only be created in part and were usually not available digitally. Due to constantly growing functional requi\u00adre\u00adments as well as staff and research capaci\u00adties, there was an urgent need for action to gradu\u00adally imple\u00adment the project documen\u00adta\u00adtion as a digital workflow.<\/p>\n

Reali\u00adsa\u00adtion: <\/strong>the first step with PROCALC was to create a digital database that centrally manages all master data on employees and projects. The detailed recor\u00adding of each employee\u2019s working time within a project is now carried with digital input forms. Further function\u00ada\u00adli\u00adties, inclu\u00adding accoun\u00adting for business trips and various evalua\u00adtion mecha\u00adnisms, were reali\u00adsed step by step. Additio\u00adnal data, e.g. holiday and sick leave, can be automa\u00adti\u00adcally synchro\u00adnised with the PROCALC database via inter\u00adfaces to exter\u00adnal accoun\u00adting systems within the company.<\/p>\n

Result: <\/strong>today, PROCALC enables the digital manage\u00adment of the entire workflow, from recor\u00adding the working time of indivi\u00addual employees to planning staff resour\u00adces for projects.<\/p>\n

PROCALC has signi\u00adfi\u00adcantly increased the effici\u00adency of time recor\u00adding and project manage\u00adment. At the same time, the suscep\u00adti\u00adbi\u00adlity to errors has been reduced thanks to the signi\u00adfi\u00adcant reduc\u00adtion in manual proces\u00adsing. Various statis\u00adti\u00adcal functions allow analy\u00adses to be carried out over any period of time. Accoun\u00adting and support\u00ading documents can be created promptly and digitally for the respec\u00adtive project partners and funding organi\u00adsa\u00adti\u00adons. Thanks to the database built up over many years, it is possi\u00adble to parti\u00adally automate manual billing.<\/p>\n

PROCALC is subject to constant further develo\u00adp\u00adment. The user inter\u00adface, reports and documents are conti\u00adnuously adapted to changing circum\u00ads\u00adtances and guide\u00adlines. Among other things, new modules will make it possi\u00adble to plan future projects or analyse feasi\u00adbi\u00adlity based on staff resour\u00adces. The co-opera\u00ad\u00adtion between the STFI and pro et con is based on a long-term service contract.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>
